Eating local = caring for creation
Eating local, organic and lower on the food chain (when possible) is an important part of the movement to Care for Creation. Eating in this way reduces the amount of fuel needed to transport food, reduces the number of chemicals used in growing the food and reduces the resources needed to produce the food. Farmers around Milwaukee are responding to this trend. Known as CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture) there are a number of sites around Milwaukee the offer “shares” in their farm in exchange for boxes of produce throughout the summer. A list of local CSA farms and more information is [here].
