Our congregation is currently served by Interim Lead Pastor James Holmberg and Associate Pastor Ann Williams (half-time). Pastor Holmberg will be leading St. Matthew’s through the MET process leading to a new lead pastor.
It is my great pleasure to serve as the Interim Lead Pastor at St. Matthew’s. I have most recently served as Interim Pastor at Christ the King Lutheran in Delafield since January 2019. Prior to that call I was privileged to serve as Director of Church Relations with Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. I have served congregations in the Greater Milwaukee Synod and began ordained ministry in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where I have my roots. I live in Waukesha with my wife Marion and two of our seven children. Three grandchildren were added to our family in the last few years. My wife is involved in advocacy efforts for persons with disabilities, a passion for both of us. We are something of an international family, with five of our children born in Asia and my wife originally from Germany.
I love the vision, mission, and values statements of St. Matthew’s. The call to live the Great Commission as we welcome all to faith in Jesus Christ and “guided by God’s Spirit and Grace” is what we will be about together.
