Worship and Picnic in the Park

Special This Year: We welcome our partners from Reformation Lutheran Church!

Join your congregational family in worshipping God in the beauty of His creation at Jacobus Park, area #1 for worship followed by a picnic. (Driving directions are below [here].) The worship service will be a festive service praising the glory of nature and God’s earth. Mark your calendars now: Sunday August 28, 11:00 a.m. ALL are welcome!!

We will welcome and worship with our partners at Reformation Lutheran Church on this day. Reformation Lutheran church, one of our partner congregations, is a Milwaukee church consistently reaching out to its neighborhood to support and minister to those in need. The worship service will be a festive service praising the glory of nature and God's earth. The summer choir will provide music and help to lead the singing.

Here are the details of the day:

• Bring your own lawn chairs or blanket. Limited seating will be available.

• The location is Jacobus Park, site #1 next to the wading pool and playground.

• The picnic immediately follows the service.

• The Fellowship Committee supplies the basics: brats, hot dogs, buns, chips, soda

• Each family is asked to bring a dish according to the first letter of their last name:

A-G: Desserts

H-O: Jello, Fruit Salads, plain fruit

P-Z: Salads of any kind (e.g. potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, veggie salad or veggie tray)

Please bring a cooler for any food needing refrigeration. Not sure what to bring? Your creative menu item which complements a picnic lunch is welcome, even if it doesn't follow the guidelines above.

• Planning a baptism? The Worship in the Park is a wonderful time and place to experience the sacrament of baptism. If someone in your family is ready to be baptized, you may wish to consider this special outdoor service. Call the church office to schedule the date.

• Immediately following the lunch there will be games for the children.

Come, share in the fun of an outside worship and good old-fashioned church picnic .

••• Volunteers Neededl Set-Up from 9:00-10:30 a.m. (transporting items to the park) as well as Clean-Up from 1-3:00, which involves transporting things back to the church. Sign up in the bulletin today, or call the church office if you can help. Thanks! We really appreciate your help.
