MICAH
Milwaukee Innercity Congregations Allied for Hope (MICAH) is a church-based community leadership development organization. The MICAH committee

Habitat for Humanity
Help build new homes in Milwaukee’s central city every Saturday from mid-May through late fall.

Next Door Foundation
The foundation’s mission is “to empower
children and families to succeed.” Volunteers are needed to read with preschoolers once a week, either in the morning or afternoon. Help these central city children discover the joy of reading and pave the way for good reading skills. Members of St. Matthew’s participate in the annual “Walk for Children” held in May.

Hope House
Hope House provides emergency shelter to families and individuals who are homeless. Volunteers are needed to cook meals, provide child care, tutor and bag food at the pantry.

Hunger Task Force
The Task Force exists to prevent and alleviate hunger, and to promote dignified access to food obtained through normal means. Volunteers are needed to sort food, help with mailings, be a legislative advocate, assist with events, etc.
