El Salvador Mission Trip Videos
A group of 22 from St. Matthew’s connected with our partners in El Salvador during their Mission Trip, Jan. 6-15, 2011. While there, they
visited various congregations, gathered information on the bridge project, and worked on some repair
projects at Casa Esperanza, the homeless shelter that we have supported in the past.
Donations are welcome to help with the cost of supplies. Checks can be made to St. Matthew’s, with “El Salvador ministries” written in the memo line, and all money collected will support the projects at Casa Esperanza and other ministries of our El Salvador partnership.
This year’s intergenerational group (listed here) is very representative of the congregation and includes nine college students and eleven first-time visitors to El Salvador. The group will spend nine days in El Salvador, visiting communities and historical sites as well as working on some projects with the Salvadoran church. We hope to set in motion the formation of a formal partnership with Casa Esperanza, the homeless shelter that serves the very poor in San Salvador. We look forward to sharing the details of the trip in worship services and at the adult education time.
