First Fridays Book Group announces 2010-11 books

The First Fridays Book Group has announced its list of books for the 2010-11 year. The Book List for 2010-11 is available to view, download or print in [doc] or [PDF] format. This group is open to everyone who loves to read and would be interested in discussing the books they have read. More information about the Book Group is [here].

 

Sunshine in our Neighborhood: A Solar Panel Report
To date we have earned over $750 and are on target with our expectations. Thank you to all of you for your support of this project and the energy we are saving. We have a new beautiful St. Matt's Brochure available. It can be shared with family and friends to spread the word about St. Matt's! Additional copies are available in the Commons and in the church office. It is online to view, download or print [here].

 

Printed Pictorial Directories now available
Good News! You can now purchase a ‘hard copy’ of our online pictorial directory. These attractive books are available in the church office at the price of $10.00 You can purchase these during regular office hours as well as on Sunday mornings following the 8:30 a.m. service. Greater Milwaukee Synod establishes "Outreach for Hope"
The mission of Outreach for Hope is to develop financial support from individuals and congregations throughout the Synod to assist these Word and Sacrament ministries in being welcoming, nurturing, and vital [more].

Care for Creation visits nationally-honored “Growing Power” program
Care for Creation team sponsored a visit to Growing Power on Saturday, June 5. Growing Power transforms communities by supporting people from diverse backgrounds through the development of Community Food Systems and by providing training, active demonstration, outreach, and technical assistance. The need is great for dental care for low income families
A huge challenge of those living in poverty or with low incomes is the issue of the lack of access to dental care. This is a tremendously large issue that often gets unreported. We are asking for donations to help fulfill dental supply needs for our partners at Cross Lutheran, Reformation and the Guest House [more].

Meet your neighbors at the 2010 Tosa Farmers Market!
This summer, Wauwatosa will have its own farmers market. “Tosa Farmers Market,” a volunteer-run open- air market that brings locally-grown fruits and vegetables and foods crafted by Wisconsin artisans directly to the people of Wauwatosa and surrounding communities [more].

Home Farming
From rural areas to urban communities, home farms are sprouting up all over the country. Learn about Urban Farming, with links to a non-profit organization, to help build a home farming community where both beginners and more seasoned gardeners can dialogue and gather information.
