Men’s ministry retreat March 19 and 20:
“Discovering Yourself in the Life You’re Living!”
We are planning an exceptional retreat for men at the Redemptorist Retreat Center in Oconomowoc March 19 and 20. Pastor Gary and Lee Beitzel, a counselor-therapist and member of St. Matthew’s are working on a reflective study about, “Discovering Yourself in the Life You’re Living!”
We will do both a psychological and spiritual focus on this topic centered around passion, balance and happiness. Some of the questions being asked are: What has brought you to this place, this moment in your life? Whose life have you been living? Why even when things are going well, do things feel not quite right? Why do you feel you have to hide so much from others, from yourself? Why does the life you are living seem too small for who you really are? Why is there such a gap between what I have and what I deserve? Why does life seem a script written without me barely being consulted? What do passion and balance have to do with happiness?
These are some of the questions in light of how you are living your life. We will also use the Passion Narrative, the last weeks of Christ (being Lent and two weeks before Easter) to focus on our topic, “Discovering Yourself in the Life You’re Living!”
The weekend promises to be a good time for building relationships, faith, and understanding of self. The cost is $100 per person including breakfast and lunch, snack and overnight. For Saturday only, the cost is $65 including breakfast and lunch and day use of the facility.

"Rise with the Guys" men's beakfast held Feb. 6
Men of the congregation gathered for breakfast on Saturday, Feb. 6 for socializing and also for hearing about a faith journey.
The topic for the presentation is Welcoming the Stranger: Hospitality,” based on Genesis 18:1-15. The speakers were Bob Storm and Conor Williams; in several ways they have welcomed people from other countries with hospitality of faith. Our faith removes barriers and walls of customs, injustice, language, religion, and economics with the language of God’s love. We thank them for their rich stories in faith hospitality.
