"Quiet Sacs" used by young children during worship
For many years, we have had "Children's Quiet Sacs" (also known as "Activity Sacks" or by other names) for children to use during worship. Since Summer 2009 new beautiful cloth bags have been used by these children, thanks to the Quilt Ministry.
These activity bags contain crayons, colored pencils, scratch paper, few short story books, activity sheets for the kids to stay busy and "quiet" during worship.
Originally made by Norma Pence about 10 years ago. Pastor Gary liked them and asked her to make some additional ones a few years ago. Norma purchased the fabric to make them, but moved before she could complete the project, so the fabric was given to Quilt Ministry to complete. In early 2009, there were 20 additional sacks completed and the 6th grade Sunday School class decorated them.
Thank you to both groups for these wonderful additions to our worship ministry!

Ways to Show Kids You Care
1.) Acknowledge their efforts more than their results.
2.) Seek them out but also allow them space.
3.) Hug them frequently but don’t force a hug if they don’t want one.
4.) Find good things about them that are actually true and let them know often.
5.) Hide surprises for them to find.
6.) Discuss their dreams and nightmares.
7.) Answer their questions, or even better, help them answer them.
8.) Show up at their concerts, games and events.
9.) Apologize when you’ve done something wrong.
10.) Take lots of pictures of them.
11.) Clip magazine pictures or articles that interest them.
11.) Ask them to help you do things. Ask for their input.
12.) Laugh at their jokes.
13.) Be relaxed, calm, loving, and nurturing as much as possible.
14.) Create a tradition with them and keep it.
15.) Use your ears more than your mouth.
16.) Make yourself available.
17.) Find a common interest.
18.) Say ‘yes’ a lot. In fact, for each ‘no’ find two or three things that are ‘yes.’
19.) Keep the promises you make.
20.) Thank them when they do nice things for you.
Ongoing Children's Ministry
Nursery and child care
During the worship services of the congregation there are volunteer folks who provide a secure, warm and loving environment for the little ones. While children are encouraged to be in worship, this special ministry is available for any who desire it.
Kids for Christ (Grades 1-3) and
Disciples of Christ (Grades 4-5)
KFC and DOC each meet about once a month for fellowship, devotions, crafts, games, food and fun. Adult helpers are appreciated. Friends are always welcome to attend. Check
