Sunday School children made a noise to end hunger!
Noisy offering collected May 1
We challenged our Sunday School kids to donate 25¢ (or more) per day for the 40 days of Lent to help fight hunger in El Salvador. If each child saves just 25¢ a day during the 40 days of Lent, he or she will raise $10.00 to help feed hungry people in El Salvador. This amount is the equivalent of 40 meals through Feed My Starving Children or 25 meals for Casa Esperanza. That’s a powerful impact that even a 3-year-old can have!
Kids were asked to collect money in a soda or other aluminum can, which they brought to Sunday School on May 1. They will shake their cans of coins and then pour them into metal containers to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord” while fighting hunger.
All offerings will go to our hunger ministries in El Salvador as part of the matching gift campaign.
Sunday School classes made fleece blankets
In the first Sunday School Rotation of the year, 1st-5th graders learned a lesson that Jesus taught his disciples, that true greatness comes from serving others. Children made fleece blankets that were given to the residents of Nehemiah House, a group home for teenage boys, which provides counseling, educational support, job placement, and life-skills training in order to help the boys make a positive adjustment back into their communities. They made over over 30 fleece blankets, and 16 of them have gone to young men at Nehemiah House
Thank you to all who made donations to help cover the cost of the blankets.

Sunday School Offering Envelopes Available at Info Center
Do you need offering envelopes for your Sunday School-aged child? Three-year-olds will be given new boxes in Sunday School. Returning students can continue to use any envelopes that are left from last year. When last year’s box is empty, a new box is available from your child’s teacher or from the information center in the Commons.
Christian learning for children
Our church believes in the importance of learning Christian values and faith from the earliest age. We offer a ministry for children in every stage of development.
Our goal is to train children for discipleship to Jesus Christ.Dedicated teachers, using prescribed curriculum and team teaching techniques, are supported by an Education Committee.
We have Sunday School Classes for ages 3 through grade 8 during the Education Hour, 9:45-10:45 a.m., September through May (immediately following the 8:30 a.m. worship). Children may be registered in the classrooms any Sunday morning. In addition to weekly classes, several family events are offered each year and all children are involved in a Sunday School Christmas program every other year.
