Sunshine in our Neighborhood: A Solar Panel Report
To date we have earned over $750 and are on target with our expectations. Thank you to all of you for your support of this project and the energy we are saving. Below is a chart showing the Solar Panel output from November 2009 through May 2010.
Below the chart is additional Solar Panel information, including a link to the live output data and photos of the Solar Panel installation and dedication.

Solar panels are generating power -- live data [here]
The above will link to the data output on a St. Matt's web page. This will display a graphical demonstration (live) of the electrical output from the solar panels on the roof of the education wing.
Our new solar panels began generating power on September 25. Installation of the solar panels on our roof began July 28.
This project was initiated by the Care for Creation committee. Special appreciation to St. Matt's member Ray Eisemann for his help on making this. Our goal has been reached to raise money for the installation of solar panels on our roof. Thank you for all of your generous support. With this renewable energy source, we show by our actions our desire to care for all of God’s creation and we’ll save about $1300 per year in electrical costs.

Solar Panels dedicated Dec. 6
The solar panels were officially dedicated on Sunday, Dec. 6, during the Education Hour. Pastor Margaret, who has "Care for Creation" as one focus of her call, led the dedication. Images of the panels from the website [here] and the solar output (see below) were shown.
Renewable Energy - Energy for Tomorrow
WE Energies allows residential customers a chance to make a difference in the environment by increasing electricity production from energy sources such as wind, water, solar and landfill gas. By participating in the program, you can decrease the use of power plants fueled by coal and natural gas, reducing greenhouse gas emissions. When you sign up for a 25%, 50% or 100% level, WE Energies produces or purchases renewable energy to watch that percentage of your electric usage. (Participation does not impact electric service eliability.)
