Eating local = caring for creation
Eating local, organic and lower on the food chain (when possible) is an important part of the movement to Care for Creation. Eating in this way reduces the amount of fuel needed to transport food, reduces the number of chemicals used in growing the food and reduces the resources needed to produce the food. Farmers around Milwaukee are responding to this trend. Known as CSA’s (Community Supported Agriculture) there are a number of sites around Milwaukee the offer “shares” in their farm in exchange for boxes of produce throughout the summer.

To provide more information on options to buy food more locally, we are providing links to CSA farms which deliver vegetables to drop off points in the area. Check it out, as the farms vary in the produce they grow, the delivery schedule and locations and the price. Many of the links also have customer reviews. All have contact information and are very willing to answer any questions.  For more information on a variety of farms see the Local Harvest website (http://www.localharvest.org) [click here]. You can enter your zip code and find farms that deliver in your area. If you know of other CSA farms to be added to the list, please contact us. A few farms are listed below.

Local home to be drop-off site for Tipi Produce CSA
The home of  Kristen and John Charlson will again be a drop off site for TIPI Produce CSA.  Pick up will be on Fridays from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Joining a CSA is a good way to support local farmers and enjoy fresh seasonal vegetables.
