Your Building Needs Assessment Team is at Work
At its next meeting the Building Needs Assessment Team will continue its work as it reviews the brief survey completed by a good number of our members.  We will categorize the results as to interests and needs. The results will be shared with the Church Council.

A next step for the team is to have discussions with the Church Council in its assessment of building needs. Along with this, the team will begin to interview members of the staff, receive some of their ideas and thoughts. Completing some of this by mid-September, we should be able to share some results with the congregation by October as a preliminary report. Keep the work of the Team in your prayers. The Building Needs Assessment Team consists of:  Paul Braun, Ed Bross, Ray Eisemann, Wendy Falk, Tim Nelson, Mike Quist, and Al Van Lith.

 

Annual Meeting of the Congregation held Jan. 24
Five new church council members were elected and the 2010 budget was approved at the Annual Meeting of St. Matthew’s Sunday, Jan. 24. The meeting reviewed the year 2009 with year-end reports. The new council members are: Cathy Shaw, Brian Smith, Thad Murrah and Tim Nelson for three-year terms, and Randy Suchy for the open two-year term. New Church Council members elected Jan. 24 (with committee assignments) were: Tim Nelson (Property), Cathy Shaw (Personnel), Brian Smith (Worship), Randy Suchy (Communications), and Thad Murrah (not pictured, Finance). Church Council 2010
Church Council members are elected for three-year terms, with four new members elected (as terms expire) at the Annual Meeting of the congregation. Five members were elected Jan. 24, 2010. Four will have terms expiring in 2013 and one filling an unexpired term, ending in 2012.

Each Church Council member has duties as chair of a committee, in addition to Council President and Secretary. The pastors are also members of the Church Council.
